Caterpillar room

In our baby/toddler room, we care for children from birth to two years old.  This room is situated downstairs and is specifically designed for the care of babies and toddlers.  This rooms holds up to nine children at any one time, with three members of staff.  It has a real homely atmosphere.  Our qualified and experienced staff incorporate the Early years foundation stage, which is the most recent curriculum designed to provide each child with the individual care and attention that they need to develop to their full potential.  We have age appropriate toys and equipment, along with cots, highchairs, baby bouncers, and an area for sensory exploration.  Our activities and equipment are provided in a way which offers all children a certain level of freedom and choice.

We ask that you provide your child with Nappies, Wipes, any creams that you may want us to apply and formula/breast milk.  If you are breast feeding, you are more than welcome to come into nursery for feeding times if you wish.

Each day, your child’s key person will complete their daily diary, providing you with information about your child’s day.

EG: Details of each nappy change, Meal times, sleep times and activities they have taken part in.

As mentioned, the age range in this room is 0-2 year; once your child reaches two years old, we will assess whether or not they are ready for the next group along.  If so, we would arrange gradual visits to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition.
